Video production pricing can be surprisingly hard to get a straight answer on. We prefer a different approach.
At Distill Media, our pricing is structured around Half-Day and Full-Day shoot rates that include everything – the videographer, cinema-grade equipment, professional lighting and audio, and all the expertise that comes with it. You are not being nickel-and-dimed for lenses or charged extra because we brought a drone.
Most standard municipal video projects fall in the range of $1,800 to $2,500 all in. These are typically single shoot-day productions with a clear scope and a defined deliverable. They are the kind of project we can turn around quickly and efficiently.

Larger productions – documentary episodes, multi-location or multi-day shoots, comprehensive video campaigns, or projects requiring extra crew or rental for gear we don’t own – typically run between $5,000 and $10,000. These projects involve more pre-production planning, more shooting days, and a more intensive edit. The investment reflects the scope.
For multi-video agreements or ongoing annual contracts, we are happy to discuss pricing structures that work within your approved budget cycle. Many of our municipal clients plan their video production as a line item in their communications budget and work with us on a retainer basis. It keeps things predictable on both sides.
We also are happy to scale the production to fit your budget, as we go over in a previous blog post.
Want a clear quote for your project? Contact Distill Media and we will put together a detailed estimate with no guesswork.
